to Tesla vehicles, as announced in a tweet from CEO Elon Musk. The farming RPG, in which players can tend crops, raise livestock, pursue romantic partners, and more, will arrive in an upcoming software update for the electric vehicles.
“Tesla holiday software update has FSD sneak preview, Stardew Valley, Lost Backgammon & a few other things,” Musk shared in a tweet.
The teased FSD sneak preview, which stands for full self-driving, might sound like the perfect companion for video games in a Tesla — but Stardew Valley and other games are only available to play when a Tesla is parked. Still, Stardew Valley might make for a good time-killing game for Tesla owners since it is the type of game that can be picked up and played for just a few minutes (or hours) of time.
The popular farming simulation game originally came to PC in 2016 and has since been released on macOS and Linux as well as a slew of consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. Stardew Valley is also available to play on both iOS and Android mobile devices as of last year, and it recently saw the addition of a major update, dubbed the “Everything Update” that brought a mass wave of changes to the game.
As for when Stardew Valley and the update is coming, Musk didn’t get more specific than “holiday.” It does seem as though the update is coming quite soon, though, as in a follow-up tweet Musk mentioned that the early access will be ready in days.
“Needs a few more days of validation, then early access, then wide release,” Musk tweeted in response to a request for an update on the upcoming release.Previously, the Tesla saw the addition of classic Atari games to its software, as well as Cuphead earlier this year.
