Obsidian Reveals Outer Worlds DLC Coming in 2020

Obsidian has announced that The Outer Worlds

will be receiving DLC sometime next year. The announcement came in a post on the Obsidian forums titled, “A Special Thank You From Obsidian,” where the studio thanked its fans and supporters for their support. They went on to reveal that story DLC will be coming sometime in 2020, saying, “The journey isn’t over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year!”

There was no other information about how long the planned expansions would be or what they would focus on from a story perspective, but Obsidian assured fans that, “Details will be made available at a later date.”

The post closes with a note from Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, Game DIrectors on The Outer Worlds:

Leonard Boyarsky: We just wanted to personally thank our team for doing a wonderful job and our fans for their tremendous support. And Tim would like to say what an honor it was to work with me.

Tim Cain: Whatever, Leonard. Now that we’ve finished, I expect that certain photographs will be destroyed, as per our agreement. We recently named The Outer Worlds the Best RPG of 2019 in our Game of the Year awards, and it was nominated for several categories at The Game Awards (hence the blog post).

JR is a Senior Editor at IGN, and really can’t wait to see just how his terrible decisions come back to bite him in the ass in this DLC. He’ll probably talk about it on Twitter, where you can follow him if you like.
