How to Make Money Fast – Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Wiki Guide

Complete Village Quests[edit]

When you’re first starting out in Bannerlord, one of the best ways to make fast money is by completing village quests. Try to visit nearby villages and find quests that focus on delivering herds or one named, Family Feud.

Quests for delivering herds are usually a short distance and give around 400 to 600 denars (the in-game currency). Also, Family Feud is a short distance quest that often provides close to 2,000 denars for persuading an NPC or winning a duel.

  • Delivering Herds – 400 to 600 denars
  • Family Fued – 1000 to 2000 denars

Trade Items For a Profit[edit]

If the life of a trader sounds appealing, this tip is especially for you. Similar to past Mount & Blade games, you make a lot of money by purchasing cheap items at one town or village and selling them elsewhere for a profit.

There’s a new mechanic in Bannerlord that lets you compare a Trade Good’s price to the realm’s average. If the price is green in the buy column on the left, it’s cheap. Whereas if it’s red in the buy column, it’s expensive.

You want to purchase green Trade Goods in the buy column, and sell Trade Goods marked as red in your inventory.

  • Certain regions have more abundant resources.
  • Villagers and caravans will also sell items they have.
  • Caravans are a daily source of income that costs 15,000 denars and a compaion to create. Profits vary.

Hunt Looters For Their Weapons and Armor[edit]

Looters are among the easier enemies to fight in Bannerlord and provide a hefty amount of money too. Once you defeat a group of Looters, you’ll get a chunk of denars from winning alongside weapons and armor you can sell.

  • 20 Looters can give 400 denars.
  • 80 Looters can give 2,000 denars before selling looted items.
  • Prisoners can be sold to taverns for extra money too.

Smelt Weapons For Money[edit]

Smithing is an easy mechanic to miss because the tutorial doesn’t tell you anything about it. Every major town has a Smithy where you can smelt weapons for their materials and sell those at a more expensive price.

Smelting requires Charcoal, which is made from refining Hardwood. Items worth 50 denars are sometimes worth a couple of hundred when smelted.

  • Smithing requires stamina that you can use across each of your companions by changing them at the bottom left corner of the Smithy.

Become a Mercenary in Bannerlord[edit]

Once you’ve completed the first quest to Rebuild Your Clan, you can become a mercenary for a kingdom. Find a lord for a kingdom you’re interested in, and ask them a question about joining.

This unlocks several opportunities to join groups of lords for battles spanning hundreds of soldiers. Regardless of your party’s size, you’ll be rewarded with prisoners and loot after every victory.

  • Eventually you can become a Vassal to a kingdom and own fiefs that pay taxes to you.
  • Once you’re experienced, fighting enemy lords can give anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000 denars frequently. Between winning the battle, ransoming the lord, selling prisoners, and selling loot.

Compete in Tournaments[edit]

If you’re confident in your Bannerlord fighting skills, try them out in a tournament for some money! You can find which towns are hosting tournaments by asking in a town’s Arena.

Once joining a tournament, you can play the odds and bet money on yourself for if you win. Winning the entire tournament will reward you with an item and money from your bets. While it’s not a great source of renown, you can still earn over a couple of thousand denars.

  • If you’re worried about losing, you can always make a save prior to starting a tournament.
  • Leveling up your weapon skills will make you deal more damage and swing faster.
