Capcom Is Inviting Players to Test Another Unannounced Game

According to a new Resident Evil Ambassadors program email, Capcom has yet another unannounced game that select fans will get to test soon. This morning, members of Capcom’s Resident Evil Ambassadors program received a new email informing them that testing will begin for an “unannounced title.”

An excerpt from the email that IGN was forwarded reads: “Also, as limited offers to Ambassadors, we have invitations to a play test session of our unannounced title, and priority seats at our game show booth.”

The email’s contents were also published on Reddit by user u/deimos-chan.

It’s unclear what show Capcom is referring to here as all the major trade shows for the year have wrapped up. The email also announced four new ranks in the Ambassador Program, four different types of Ambassador Cards, and an update to the program’s terms and services in 2020.

The last time Resident Evil Ambassadors received an email informing them of an unannounced title, it turned out Capcom was hosting tests for Project Resistance, the multiplayer component for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Considering that Capcom already announced Project Resistance and Resident Evil 3 Remake, it begs the question if this is yet another unannounced game Capcom is working on. And if so, what is it?

We know Capcom renewed its trademark for Dino Crisis earlier this week. But companies often renew trademarks even if there isn’t a new game in development. Considering the email was sent to Resident Evil ambassadors, there’s a chance it could be for yet another Resident Evil game.Capcom has been announcing new projects at a frequent pace lately. Not only did the company announce a second Resident Evil remake a year after the first, but the developers have also released games like Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Devil May Cry 5 to critical acclaim.

IGN has reached out to Capcom for comment.
